CHAPTER NINE

Three weeks later…

Zay

After getting questioned by my girl over and over again about what I know that I’m not telling her for the past three weeks. I think it’s time I find out what the connection is between Africa and Angus. Yea, you read right. The night I went through that nigga’s phone, I found her number or what I think is her number, in his call list several times. I haven’t had any reason to communicate with her, and I had deleted her number after she messaged me about that pregnancy. But if this was her number, she and that nigga had been communicating on the regular. The conversations between them lasted no more than ten minutes at a time, but they were definitely communicating. I needed to get to the bottom of this and I pray that she didn’t have anything to do with Prince’s death because if she did, Lexus would kill her ass for sure. Was she having an affair with that nigga and he set Prince up to get rid of him so he could be with Africa? Whatever was going on I needed to find out, but first I had to confirm that this is her number.

I pick up my phone and dial the number that is in Angus’ phone. I am actually praying that this isn’t Africa’s number, just not to have more drama in the family. But instead, she picks up on the first ring.

“Hello, Zay? Is that you?” She asks and I can hear the excitement in her voice.

“Africa?”

“Yea, it’s me. Why are you calling me? I thought you wanted me to move around and forget about you so I’m really confused right now.” She tries to play off her giddiness to hear from me but it’s too late. I already know she’s about to piss on her with joy.

“I need to talk to you about something. Can you meet me somewhere?”

“Of course, you can come over to my place right now if you want. I was getting ready to go back to the hospital. The doctor said he may release Princeton today, so I had to come by and pick up a few things,” she explains. I know I shouldn’t go over to the condo she shared with Prince, but I need to know these answers now.

“I’m on my way,” I tell her and hang up the phone.

I grab my keys and head out the door. I had one foot in my truck when Lexus comes running to the door.

“Where are you going?” She asks with that suspicious look on her face.

“I have some business I need to handle right quick then I gotta go by the spot. Why, wassup?”

“Well were you really just going to leave without saying anything?”

“Nah, but I am in a rush baby. Can this wait?” I ask.

“Like why would you just leave like that?”

“Babe I just told you that I’m in a rush. I didn’t mean to just up and leave like that, but I really have somewhere I need to be right now,” I say as I give her a kiss on the lips.
